Historic Workers Convention Strengthens Unity Between Gujjar Bakerwal and Pahari Communities in J&K

Date:

Baramulla,Nov 12:-  A landmark Workers’ Convention was held today under the leadership of Shri Raja Aijaz Ali (Chairman) and Dr. Naseer-ud-Din Baroo, organized by the All Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakerwal and Pahari Cultural & Welfare Forum. The event drew a massive turnout, with enthusiastic participation from members and representatives of both the Gujjar–Bakerwal and Pahari communities.

The convention reflected a growing spirit of brotherhood, mutual respect, and a shared determination to work together for common rights, welfare, and representation. During the proceedings, participants jointly took an oath to:

Fight unitedly for their constitutional and social rights;

Organize awareness programs at the village and grassroots levels;

Promote education, social harmony, and empowerment; and
Continue serving as the second line of defense for the Nation with pride, loyalty, and dedication.

Chairman Raja Aijaz Ali highlighted the importance of unity, awareness, and cooperation between the communities, stating, “Our strength lies in our unity. We have always stood shoulder to shoulder for justice, equality, and nation-building. Together, we can transform our future and ensure that our voices are heard at every level.”

Dr. Naseer-ud-Din Baroo emphasized empowering the youth and women of both communities through education and active participation. He reaffirmed that the Forum will continue organizing similar conventions across all districts to strengthen understanding, coordination, and solidarity among Gujjar, Bakerwal, and Pahari communities.

The participants unanimously resolved to resist any attempts by governments, agencies, or political forces to undermine or divide Scheduled Tribe Category-I (ST-I) and Scheduled Tribe Category-II (ST-II). The gathering affirmed that both communities will stand united to safeguard their constitutional, legal, and social rights, including representation and reservation benefits.

The event ended with a resolution to continue awareness and unity programs throughout Jammu and Kashmir, spreading the message of peace, solidarity, and empowerment. The convention marked a historic milestone, symbolizing a new era of cooperation, mutual respect, and collective strength between the Gujjar–Bakerwal and Pahari communities.
