Financial Commissioner Shantmanu (IAS) Visits GDC Budgam, Reviews Infrastructure and Academic Progress

Budgam: Today, on 7th of August 2025, Shri Shantmanu (IAS), Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Higher Education Department, visited Sheikh Ul Alam Memorial Degree College, Budgam. The esteemed dignitary was warmly received by the Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) M. Amin Malik, along with other faculty members and staff.

The worthy Financial Commissioner interacted with the staff of the College in the Principal’s chamber during which academics and progress of various infrastructural projects was discussed. Later, the Hon’ble Financial Commissioner took round of the campus and assessed the progress of on-going construction works. The dignitary inspected under construction Library Block, Eight-Classroom Block and Indoor Stadium, which are near completion.

The Hon’ble Financial Commissioner reviewed the PM-USHA renovation works of the main building and visited Hi-Tech Poly-house, (Quality Seed Grower Plant). The Hon’ble Commissioner assured the college administration of his full support in further developing the identified areas crucial for the institution’s growth. The Hon’ble Commissioner was highly impressed and lauded the college administration for its dedicated efforts in raising academic ecosystem and infrastructure on the campus.
