Ganderbal, July 28: A special awareness program under the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan was organized today at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Tullamulla to combat the growing menace of drug abuse.
Speaking on the occasion, noted social and student activist Manzoor Wani emphasized the importance of a collective grassroots movement to eradicate drugs from society. “If we truly want a drug-free society, efforts must begin at the grassroots. Every citizen has a role to play, and the administration must prioritize the establishment of a rehabilitation center in Ganderbal, as the district currently lacks one,” he said.
Manzoor Wani also expressed gratitude to all allied departments and stakeholders for their joint efforts in making the program a success and called for sustained coordination in the fight against drug abuse.
The event witnessed participation from Rural Development Employees, teachers, local, police department and health departments, all united in their mission to spread awareness and encourage youth to stay away from drugs.
