Budgam,25 July 2025: Director Colleges, Higher Education Department Prof. (Dr.) Sheikh Aijaz Bashir, and Ms. Sukhleen Kour, Director Planning, Higher Education Department, accompanied by other officials, visited Sheikh Ul Alam Memorial Degree College, Budgam, to assess the progress of ongoing construction works within the campus. The dignitaries were warmly received by the Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Mohd Amin Malik along with other
Faculty members, officials from R&B Department Budgam were also present on the occasion. A detailed meeting was held in the office Chamber of the Principal, during which the status of various infrastructure projects, technical issues and delays were thoroughly discussed.
The team subsequently inspected the infrastructure projects, including the newly constructed eight-class room block, the Library block, and the Indoor Stadium which are currently under construction. After the on-site inspection, engineers were given clear-cut instructions to expedite the completion of all pending works and to rectify identified deficiencies in the construction process. Specific directives were issued to ensure timely execution and adherence to quality standards. The team also reviewed the PM-USHA renovation works of the main building. The executing agency was categorically instructed that any further delays would be unacceptable and that all remaining work under PM-USHA must be completed in one month’s time slot.
Mr. Tarsaim Sharma, Section Officer, Planning Department, higher education recorded all the direction on the spot. Prof. (Dr.) Sheikh Aijaz Bashir lauded the college administration for its dedicated efforts in raising both academic and non-academic standards of the institution and emphasized the importance of timely infrastructure development to support the academic ecosystem.
