Syeda Bibi Zainab Passes Away in Srinagar; Funeral Held in Malangam Bandipora

Srinagar, 27 May 2025: Tragic Demise of Syeda Bibi Zainab, It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Syeda Bibi Zainab, who breathed her last yesterday evening at SKIMS Srinagar. Her departure has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and community members. She was laid to rest today in her ancestral graveyard near her father’s shrine in Malangam village, District Bandipora, amidst the collective prayers and condolences of all who knew her.

Her funeral was attended by hundreds of mourners representing various sectors of society, including religious leaders, local residents, and community elders, who gathered to pay their respects and participate in the congregational Nimaz-e-Jinaza. Syeda Bibi Zainab had been unwell for the past few months, and her untimely demise is deeply mourned by all who loved her.

Known affectionately as Mati Bubbo within her family circle, she was the cherished daughter of the revered Sufi Saint, Syed Rasool Shah, Nanga Baji Sahib (RA), of Malangam, Bandipora. She was also the sister-in-law of prominent PDP leader and Secretary of the Pahari Cell, Syed Jamat Ali Shaheen. Her life was marked by simplicity, piety, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Her loss is deeply felt across the region, where she was admired for her humility and kindness. Her legacy as a descendant of a spiritual lineage continues to inspire those around her.

Her Rasm-e-Chahram will be observed on Thursday, 29th May 2025, at the residence of Syed Mauzam Hussain Shah in Malangam, Bandipora. The family invites all well-wishers and community members to join in paying homage and offering prayers for her eternal peace.

We pray to Allah Almighty to grant her the highest place in Jannah and to give strength and patience to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
