War Against Drugs Continues: Kulgam Police Recover Huge Quantity of Poppy Straw

Kulgam,May 30, 2024: Acting promptly upon specific information generated by IC PP Frisal, Syed Muzamil, regarding the hoarding of a large quantity of narcotic substances, a team headed by IC PP Frisal, under the supervision of DySP PC Hatipora, conducted a raid. The operation took place at a suspected location (Band Saw Mill) in the presence of an executive magistrate at Kaladrund. After a thorough search, 209.7 kilograms of poppy straw-like contraband substances, filled in 12 nylon bags, were recovered. However, the owner managed to flee the scene upon noticing the police.Regarding the incident, a case has been registered under FIR number 36/2024 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act at Police Station Yaripora, and an investigation is underway.Preliminary investigations have revealed the involvement of the owner of the mill, identified as Ghulam Nabi Kuttay, son of Abdul Aziz Kuttay, resident of Kaladrund. He has been selling the substance to the youth of nearby areas at higher rates, leading to drug addiction among them. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.The general public is requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling or anti-social activities in their vicinity.
