*Ganderbal 7 April: Jammu Kashmir United Movement on Sunday held a meeting of its prominant workers at Shafakadal Rampora Tullamulla.According to a press release, the meeting was presided over by the party’s President Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, while as party working district president Ganderbal Sheikh Gh Ahmad Saloora, Youth President Ganderbal Sajad Ahmad Ganie, Block President Tullamulla Mohd Afzal Bhat and other party leaders were also present at the venue.”The meeting was attended by a large number of party workers, who held thorough discussions over certain party affairs and outlined a strategy to strengthen the party further in the area,” the press note added.Addressing the meeting, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar urged the party workers to strenghen their connections with the communities in their respective areas. Mr Jabbar further said that it is imperative that we connect with the people at the grassroots level and understand their concerns. Unlike some dynastic political parties, JK UM is committed to genuine representation and service. Let us not be swayed by emotional slogans and empty assurances; instead, let our actions and commitment speak louder than words,” he said.Speaking on the occasion Sheikh Ghulam Ahmad Saloora said the times when people had lost hope and were engulfed by a sense of insecurity and alienation, JKUM emerged as a ray of hope for them. JKUM is a people-centric party that focuses on ushering in an era of peace, prosperity and development in J&K he added.During the meeting, the developmental and other public issues were discussed in detail by Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar. He also advised them to inform the public about the death anniversary of Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Jabbar to be celebrated on 17th of April at Madremaherban stadium (Qamariya Stadium) Ganderbal.
