GANDERBAL POLICE IN COLLABORATION WITH SPECIAL CELL FOR WOMEN CONDUCTED AWARENESS DRIVE AGAINST WOMEN HARRASMENT & VIOLENCE.

On the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Sandeep Gupta-IPS, under the supervision of Shri Gh Hassan-JKPS Hqr’s Ganderbal, Ganderbal Police in collaboration with Special Cell for Women conducted a mass awareness drive against women harrasment & violence in District Ganderbal.
The main aim & purpose of this awareness drive was to inform female folk about their rights and to encourage them to report crimes against them to their nearest Police Stations.
During the drive, special Police team was constituted accompanied by the Social Workers of Special Cell shared emergency numbers to the public transport vehicles including large vehicles, small vehicles, electric buses, sumos etc. to generate awareness about women harrasment & its punishment. They engaged the general public including students, men, women and girls by raising awareness about sexual harrasment in public transport. Social workers and Police Officials awared the passengers that violence against women whether physical or emotional is a crime & special emphasis was put on the prevention of harassment against females in public transport. Moreover, Women and Girls were informed to contact District Police Ganderbal or Special Cell for Women, in case they face any kind of harassment in public transport.
The general public of District Ganderbal hailed & appreciated the efforts of District Police by raising such awareness which can help in curbing social menaces effectively.
Ganderbal Police assures general public that such Drives & Awareness programmes shall continue in future and we expect that general public will cooperate with J&K Police in eliminating social crimes.
