DLSA Ganderbal organised Legal Awarness programme at Manasbal

For the implementation of plan of action/calendar of activities for the Year-2024 issued by J&K Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal organized an awareness programme on “Domestic Violence, Property Rights, Workplace Discrimination and Gender Equality on 26th of February, 2024 (Monday) at Manasbal. The programme was held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Ritesh Kumar Dubey, Chairman District legal Services Authority, Ganderbal and under the guidance of Ms. Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tanveer Ashraf, Assistant LADC provide information about the effective protection of the rights of women guaranteed under the Constitution who are victims of violence of any kind occurring within the family. He said the noble objective of this programme was to impart practical knowledge among women about the basic legal rights and remedies provided under various women related laws, to make women aware of the various machineries/organs of the Justice delivery system available for redressal of their problems/grievances, and to sensitize Women & Girls about their rights as provided under the various laws. He also informed participants about the role of Legal Services Authorities. He apprised the participants about Marriage and Divorce, Maintenance Laws, Women right to property, Domestic Violence, Dowry Death, Acid Attack, Outraging modesty of woman etc. The participants were briefed about securing the rights of women by utilizing the laws meant for the protection of women.
The programme was attended by Officers and Officials of District Administration Ganderbal, General Public, Women, PLVs etc.
