Thirsty Travels: The Water Crisis at Kashmir’s Railway Stations
Maryam Khaliq
In Kashmir, we all know railway stations are very important. They are a main source of income and the main way people travel. But there’s a problem at these stations: the water points don’t work.
Many railway stations have places where people can get water, but often, these water points are broken. They are not fixed for a long time, which causes a lot of trouble for travelers. When people feel thirsty, especially in the hot summer, they can’t find clean water to drink. This is not just annoying; it’s also bad for health.
This problem shows that the people in charge are not taking care of the stations properly. It seems like they don’t care about making sure basic things, like water, are available. If the water points were fixed regularly, it would make a big difference.
The railway authorities need to fix this issue quickly. They should make sure water points are checked and repaired often. Maybe they can also put in new water machines that take care of themselves. Local people can help by telling the authorities when something is broken.
Water is a basic need, making sure people have access to it at railway stations should be a top priority. It’s not just about making travel easy; it’s about respecting the people who use these trains every day.
Fixing the water problem at our railway stations will make traveling in Kashmir better for everyone. It’s time for the authorities to take action and solve this issue.
