Lok-Adalat held at Ganderbal
On the insightful directions of Hon’ble Mr. Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, Hon’ble the Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Ladakh (Patron-in-Chief J&K Legal Services Authority), and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Tashi Rabstan, Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal today on 17th of May, 2024 held Lok-Adalat for amicable settlement of consumer cases.
The Lok-Adalat was held under the Supervision of Mr. Amit Kumar Gupta, Member Secretary, J&k Legal Services Authority & Mr. Ritesh Kumar Dubey, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Ganderbal, and under the guidance of Ms. Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal.
Two benches were constituted for the amicable settlement of cases, wherein 1st Bench was presided by Ms. Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal, while as Adv. Syed Romani was bench member, and 2nd Bench was presided by Mr. Easrar Ul Nabi, Munsiff/JMIC Kangan, while as Advocate Tariq Ahmad Raina was Bench member.
Overall 108 cases were taken up for settlement out of which 104 cases were amicably settled/Compromised on spot. Rs. 33,904/- (Rupees Thirty Three Thousand Nine Hundred Four only) was awarded as settlement amount.
