Hashmi expresses grief Over boat capsize Tragedy , offer deepest condolences

The prominent Sociopolitical activist Syed Karar Hashmi studying at Qom Seminary in the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed his deepest sympathies with the children’s families, and all those affected by the horrible boat incident at Jehlum River in which most of the passengers were children on their way to school. He said in a press statement that the rope used to guide the boat across snapped and the higher water level due to heavy rains falling in the past two days made this tragedy more vulnerable and imminent. He observed that in the State of Kerala, the same incident happened the previous year, in which 30 passengers capsized and drowned. The reasons in such cases are mostly overcrowded and inadequate safety equipment. In an appeal to GOI, he said that the incident of children drowning after the boat capsized in the river Jhelum near Batwara, Srinagar is extremely heartbreaking, appealed to the Government of India, especially LG Shri Manoj Sinha Ji, to get the bridge completed, so that such situations would not be happened in the future. He expressed sympathy with the bereaved families in bearing this irreparable loss of small angels and prayed to Almighty Allah to bless them in Jannatul Firdous.
